OVERVIEW
All Star Motorsports received a black out request from Allen Cadillac in Laguna Niguel California. This chrome delete package was the first Cadillac XT5 we had seen and there was a lot of chrome to work with. Upon inspection the we were able to remove all the chrome trim from the vehicle and nothing would have to stay on the vehicle for paint. After removing the wheels and sending them for powder coat, at the clients request it was determined that we would create a satin black out package as opposed to the customary gloss black. All the wheels were cold stripped for powder coat along with the lug nuts. The caps were disassembled and painted to match the satin black wheels. Once all the parts and emblems were off the car on day one, we proceed by meticulously sanding down every part. This is important to prevent the paint from peeling years down the road. Sanding the chrome down takes the greater part of day one. On Day 2 we are ready for primer and paint. Once the paint has dried we inspect every part for quality assurance. It is important to note that you cannot color sand satin black paint. You have one shot to do it right or you just have to paint it all over again. There is no room for error and the guys at the paint shop perfected this project as you can see. The entire project took our team 3 full days to complete. And the best news for out team is that Allen Cadillac sold the vehicle after just 1 day on the showroom floor.
